ADVANCED POWER CORPORATION APC Readypower Home Backup Systems From $1850 A Readypower™ backup power system from Applied Power Corporation provides you with a clean, silent, and environ- mentally friendly means to protect your home or business from sudden power outages. We are pleased to carry the APC Readypower line because they offer complete modular approaches to backup power. The Readypower system combines all the pieces you need into one easy to install module: inverters, gel-cell batteries, wiring harnesses, hook-up points. Installation requires only a certified electrician, then you are up and running. Batteries store energy in reserve until your primary (utility) power is cut off. When your APC Readypower system senses the loss of primary power, the system instantly and automatically switches to backup power, silently drawing reserve energy from the storage batteries to supply most of your important electrical needs. These electrical needs are operated through a Sub Electric Panel as shown in the above diagram. Under normal conditions and for short power outage, the Readypower System is recharged by your utility power, which keeps your batteries full until needed. To keep your batteries fully charged during long power outage periods, an automatic start generator or solar electric array recharging option is available for your Readypower System.
